"The world is
a book and those who do not travel have only read one page."
ST. AUGUSTINE Hey everyone! This is your GEO Vice President for the 2004-2005 school year. I am an ultra-friendly gal and I am a genuinely interested person, so if you ever see me, say hi and tell me about your day! (: I would love to hear about it! And!! If you have nothing to tell me about your day, talk to me anyway because I would love to invite you to a hike, or dinner, or a movie night! Yay! Then you can go say hi to your friends and tell them about your awesome day with GEO! And you get a new friend---me!
So, I am also ASB
president and a staff reporter for the school paper, NewsBytes. I
absolutely love WCHS!! The greatest feeling in the world is to see the
all the great things on campus shine and see the Bulldogs prove that
they are the best! Haha! So it's no surprise that I even thought
to want to be a GEO officer. It's the greatest experience in the
world to be involved. It's the greatest feeling to see people enjoying
themselves in the middle of our events! It's even more refreshing
to see new sights, taste new delicacies, meet new faces.
GEO is an absolute
wonder. I never would have guessed that just up Azusa Ave. There was a
Bridge, which lead to nowhere!! What an amazing hike! It's a real escape
from the norm, the routine, the familiar. I love GEO
people! Well, it's not like GEO creates people, but the
types of people that gravitate towards the club are amazing!! The reason
I love them so much is because they have such a sense of adventure and
desire for exploration that on hikes these people are climbing over and
under things you would never imagine!! You see compassion and teamwork
from complete strangers, what a great way to make new friends.
I love the foreign
and classic movie potlucks!! The simplest afternoon watching a
movie expands the cultural boundaries in my head. When I say culture, I don't mean
ethnic culture, but new discoveries about our times. To watch Fred
Astaire and Judy Garland walk down Fifth Avenue opened another door to
history, traditions and the change in the times. To hike up Mt.
Lowe and think, Wow!! a couple decades ago, the celebrities would
come up here and lounge around in the hotel.
The only reason I
ever do anything is because I have so much fun doing it and high school
has been the time of my life!! What's so great about the
school you wonder? Because it has GEO! haha! From the
students to the custodians, to the security guards to staff members,
there's an absolutely amazing atmosphere and it's such a big family.
How could you not
love this school?!
And a fifteen year
exchange program with GEO? Does it get any better?
GEO is awesome.
WCHS is awesome. The officers are awesome. This year is awesome.
So come along, be
active, and join GEO to all of it's "great adventures."
