I think the main reason why I joined GEO was because it’s so different from all the other clubs on campus and in the world. GEO is the ONLY club that allows you the opportunity to “get out and see the world” practically in your very own backyard (meaning somewhere in Southern California)—which is so fun to do. It is also the club the hosts the Japanese Exchange Program! Doesn’t that sound exciting? That’s one the major reasons why I wanted to join this club. I love Japanese culture, I mean who doesn’t right? It’s just so awesome! Apart form going to restaurants, theatres, and museums—we have monthly hikes which are so much fun if you attend. They may be tiring but…wow, if you don’t come to at least ONE hike you are missing out! Trust me, they become addicting after your first two hikes. Hikes and the Japanese Exchange Program are what set us apart from the rest of clubs out there. There is NO other club that will give you this chance. So take this chance right now to explore the world and other cultures! There’s no better way to describe this club than for you just to go and experience! Since I’ve given you SOME insight on GEO, I’ll tell you a bit more about myself. I’m currently a sophomore and jobless. But it’s not like I have time for a job anyway even though I’m broke and can use a little cash in my pockets. I’m very excited to be working in such an awesome club, since this is my first year. I love Japanese culture and one day I wish to move to Japan and live there. As for this year, I’m in AP World History and one of the few people out in the world who can tolerate Beeken. I am a sleep-deprived child but that won’t keep me from smiling! But you know what would make me even happier? If you can get involved with this club and join me and the other officers among 50+ other students to GEO events! GEO can be total escapism too! So come in, join and get out to see the world with GEO! You’ll absolutely LOVE it. GEO: goodness in every event!
