Hey all you GEO members out there!  This is your 2002-2003 GEO secretary. Though I cannot give you my name, you can always find me in room S-2 hardly working..err...I mean working hardly to make this club the best that it can be.  The other officers and I have worked tirelessly over the summer to plan the several fun filled events for the year, so we hope you enjoy the several hikes, cultural experiences, and other activities that we have in store for you.   One of my goals for this year is to get as many of you as I can to be involved and stay active in the club.  After all, in these hectic lifestyles of ours, this club is your only passport to Get Out and See the World.
Now a little about myself.  I am currently a junior here at WCHS. I am 16 years old and I have one younger brother who is a freshmen.  I am a highly involved member of our school activities.  Other than GEO, I am the trumpet section leader of our marching band, looking to be the brass captain next year.  In addition to band, I serve on the ASB cabinet as a Member at Large.  This means that I am mainly the assistant to the Director of Club Relations.  My job is to coordinate all the food fairs and make sure that all the clubs are following procedure and have some order. This year I will also be playing for our Varsity Badminton team.  I made MVP last year for JV, and hope to keep up all the hard work. I am also assisting your GEO treasurer  with the development of a very highly prestigious club this year, called the National Honor Society, so look out for that club too.  I am also a highly involved member of my class (go to Prom 2003) and Interact as well.  I am also involved in several AP and honors classes, so you may be asking me when do I find the time to do all this stuff?  Well I don't know myself, but I have survived Beeken's class so I know I can do all this.
I have several interests and goals in life.   I am really into science right now.  I am in AP Biology and am loving every minute of it.  All the labs that we do and the chemistry that makes up life really intrigues me. Mr. Bjerke is also a really great teacher so I highly suggest you take that class.  I also love new technology and gadgets even though I don't have the money to buy them.  I just like reading about them and trying them out at the stores and seeing how they work.  I could spend ours over at Best Buy just playing with all the cool stuff they have over there.  I am also really interested in sports.  I love watching basketball, esp the Lakers, but I really enjoy playing sports with my friends just for fun.  I'm not really into competition, but rather just hanging out with my friends and tossing the football around.
Now that you know all this stuff about me, I should tell you why I joined GEO and became an officer.  I enjoy that everything GEO does because they exposed me to stuff that I would probably have never done if it were not for GEO.  I love all the hikes (the fun and challenging ones like Palm Canyon), the film potlucks subjected me to movies that i would never watch, and all the cultural places that we go to turn out to be quite fun and interesting.  Without GEO I would just be busy doing homework on Saturdays instead of going on some exciting hike.  So just remember ... GEO is Everywhere You Want to
