DIANA TOLDOYA
President 2000-2001
Yes, it’s true.  I am a dark little rain cloud...or not!  I am Diana Toldoya and I am the GEO President for the 2000-2001 year.  I’ve been in the GEO club since I was a sophomore.  I was also last year’s Treasurer and now I’m the President (power is good).  I joined GEO back then because I was told by some influential upperclassmen that I *had* to join it since I made it into Mr. Beeken’s Honors World Cultures class.  I have come to realize that those people didn’t know what they were talking about then and they still don’t now.
Despite some misconceptions I had as a sophomore, GEO means so much more to me now as a senior.  I’ve done most of what GEO has to offer, the popular and the not-so-popular events.  I survived the Fish Canyon Falls hike though it cost me a small fortune in IcyHot and Tylenol to recover.  I pigged out at Bucca di Beppo.  And, best of all, I even went to Japan last summer as part of GEO’s Japanese Exchange Program.  I have lots of GEO exploits racked up through the years.  And besides, where else can I go on a power trip and get away with it?  (I’m kidding, really!)
I love to write.  I used to write a lot (does anyone remember DDDs?) but it has stopped being fun for me so I don’t do much creative writing anymore.  Now, isn’t it weird then to think that I’m also the Special Editions editor for the school newspaper?  Since writing is hard for me now, I’ve found that it is so much easier to go over somebody else’s work instead of creating my own.  Could that be laziness?  Maybe!  I am a senior after all.
Did you ever think there were these black holes that sucked up time?  A void where all time was vacuumed and never to be released ever again?  Every person has something like this in their life.  For me, that black hole is ASB.  I think it’s that way with a lot of people actually, though the phenomenon is rarely documented and few are willing to speak on the subject.  I am the ASB Director of Communications.  Not much of a power trip to go on there, but I am *the* mover and shaker when it comes to the daily announcements and the marquee.
I traveled around a lot as a kid thanks to my family’s love for family vacations.  I’ve been sucked into almost every tourist trap from California to Canada.  It had its moments, I got to see one of the world’s biggest balls of string (okay maybe I made that part up but you get my drift).  Traveling really is one of my most favorite things to do, which is why I went to Japan as part of the exchange program.
That part about me being a “dark little rain cloud” just might be true...but not really.  Those that know me best know that I’m not really so dark and gloomy and that most of it is attributed to stress.  The sunshine does come out in my world (contrary to popular opinion).  I’m also rather pushy and impulsive but that only adds to the goodness.
I’m 17 years old right now, turning 18 in December.  No, I do not have a license or a permit, but I do have a car!  Little good that does me though.  I was born on this little island floating in the Pacific Ocean called Cebu.  I have two older brothers (Lee and Victor) who don’t spoil the only little sister they have (ME!), however, I’m not bitter about it.  I have two dogs, one is a behemoth named Andie and the other is a runt named Heidi.  Plus, I have a turtle named Shinobu (here’s some trivia, the hidden meaning of “Shinobu” is “to hide one’s self”).  I rock at Jeopardy and History IQs and yes, I do play along at home.
