Foreign Film Potlucks
Expose yourself to cinema from around the world with GEO’s foreign film potlucks. Sit back and relax while you watch the art of cinema on the television screen and munch goodies at the same time. Sound fun? It is!

Foreign film potlucks are held after school in S-2 once a quarter. Movies are selected and pre-screened by GEO officers to ensure its "entertainment value." The films may come from any place in the world where movies are made. Don’t let a language barrier stop you. Even if a film is in a foreign language it isn’t hard to catch on to the plot and most of the movies come with English sub-titles. A lot about a culture can be learned by the movies they make. Viewing these movies gives you a glimpse into a culture different from your own via the cinema screen. Know of a good foreign film? We welcome suggestions!

Watching a foreign film isn’t the only part of the fun, there’s a potluck, too. You need to bring some goodies to share with everybody in order to go to the foreign film potluck (that’s why it’s called a foreign film potluck). Persons attending the foreign film potluck must bring food to share--it is mandatory. Persons not bringing food will not be admitted. Bring anything from chips, soda, cookies, and popcorn--anything edible would be great. Want to share your favorite food? The foreign film potluck is the place to do it.

So sit back and watch an interesting film with buddies while munching on yummy food and become cinema savvy. It’s a nice way to spend an afternoon.
